This review covers the pop track Boy Krazy – That’s What Love Can Do.
This track was released in 1993 on a self-titled album.
The track starts with a drum kit. A bassline quickly follows. A guitar also makes an appearance. After that, some brass and a piano comes in. Some synth string also joins the track.
The vocals then take the track straight into the main chorus. After that, the vocals take the track into the first verse with some subtle backup vocals. This section is capped off with some pitch bent vocals that are non-lyrical in nature.
The vocals then take the track into the next verse. Piano plays in this section as well. The vocals then take the track into the next main chorus. The vocals then repeat the main chorus. When they repeat the main chorus a third time, the track then gradually fades out.
For me, this track does have positives. For one, the vocals actually sound quite good. With the backup vocals, there is even a bit of depth to the vocals.
Another positive is the backing elements. The piano, guitars, and other elements actually do a lot to make this track sound quite good.
This track, however, isn’t free of any pitfalls. The big one for me is that the lyrics are a bit on the skimpy side. I could only count one verse throughout the entire track. As a result, this track does rely a bit to heavily on a main chorus. As a result, this track ends up being one of those track you enjoy a few times, then throw away for something else.
Overall, this is a decent track. It’s got great vocals and a nice number of backing elements that make this track sound quite good. Unfortunately, with very little in the way of lyrics, the track also winds up being a bit more disposable then it should have been. So, a decent track, but could have been better if expanded on.
