We now reach our last top 10 list looking back into the year that was. Let’s now cap it off with the top 10 best tracks we’ve heard in 2021.
This years list features quite an interesting mix of tracks. While major record labels do have a pretty strong showing this year, do know that we’ve been focusing on very specific release years, so the pool isn’t as strong as other years. Still, we did manage to find some pretty good stuff out there, so let’s get straight to this years list:
10. Grindstone – Mir
(Commercial)
A laid back track that manages to also offer some high energy. With great vocals and great guitar work, this track manages to make it into this years list.
8/10
9. DJ Fresh – Nervous
(Commercial)
This track blends drum n bass and rock influences into one great track. The vocals are decent and the synth works well with the guitar work here.
8/10
8. Rob Zombie – Meet the Creeper
(RIAA)
This track boasts of great guitars and strong themes. With great vocals and nice energy, there’s little wonder why something like this makes this kind of list.
8/10
7. Linkin Park – In the End
(RIAA)
Many would recognize this track as the track that boosted the band into stardom. With a nice blend of rap and rock vocals as well as very careful attention to every detail, this track shows off what strength this band is capable of.
8/10
6. Inhaler feat. Christian Burns ‎– Something About You (MDE Edit)
(Commercial)
A shortened version of a much longer track that scored very well here. This one retains a lot of what made the longer track so particularly noteworthy. While the length may have reduced some of the quality, it still manages to make for a great listening experience.
8/10
5. Iggy Pop Feat. Sum 41 – Little Know it All
(RIAA)
Two bands come together to perform one track. Sometimes it doesn’t work out, but in others, it in this case, it works well enough to make it into the top 5 for the year. With great vocals and interesting lyrics, this track is only propelled by the already great guitar work.
8/10
4. Orjan Nilson – La Guitarra (Original Mix)
(Commercial)
Moving up on this list, this track features some of the best of disco influences, but also belts out some nice guitar work as well. A very emotional and well done track.
8/10
3. Darude – My Game
(Commercial)
Another great track from this producer. This one manages to blend elements of trance and rock into one great track. One minute, you think your listening to a great rock track, the next, you’re listening to a great trance track. The great vocals that offer two different styles only helps make this a top 3 track.
8/10
2. Aurora Feat. Naimee Coleman – Ordinary World (Original Radio Mix)
(RIAA)
An interesting instance where a cover track proves to be better than the original. This track features great vocals, great lyrics, and great guitar work to push for a nicely emotional track.
8.5/10
1. Sunny Lax – Miquë (Original Mix)
(Commercial)
This years winner is a rather uplifting track. One of the number of tracks that helped this producer being well known in the trance community. This track features some great melody, high energy, and borderline euphoric melodies. This years winner truly stands out from the rest!
