This review covers the punk rock track CIV – Set Your Goals.
This track was released in 1995 on the album Set Your Goals.
The track starts off with a brief drum kit solo before the guitars come in. The vocals then come in for the first verse.
After that, the vocals take the track into the first round of the main chorus. This section is capped off with an instrumental section.
From there, the vocals then take the track into the next verse. The vocals then take the track into the next round of the main chorus. The vocals then extend the lyrics in this section before it is capped off with an instrumental section.
After that, another short verse comes in before the vocals take the track into the main chorus. This section is capped off with some guitars and drum kit which quickly lead the track out.
One thing I noticed about this track is the length. It doesn’t even crack two minutes. So, this track is a bit on the short side.
I do like how the track starts off. There is some interesting guitars and drum kit action going on.
Meanwhile, the vocals sound decent enough. Nothing huge, but they are pretty good.
With the length, I thought it was interesting the decision to narrow down the main chorus to a mere line or two. Somehow, it manages to work in this track. I’m not entirely sure how it works, but it does in this track.
Overall, the track is decent enough. While the guitars and vocals sound pretty good. The length of the track does leave a bit to be desired. The short main chorus rounds work much better than anticipated, interestingly enough. So, decent track all around, but not one with a whole lot of lasting power.
