This review covers the progressive trance track Orion – See Me Here (Original Mix).
This track was released in 2002 as part of a single.
The track starts with the drum kit and a bassline. Some snares make an appearance as some synth effects join the track. A second synth effect makes an appearance before another, more constant, synth makes an appearance. Additional synths make an appearance before non-lyrical vocals make an appearance.
When the drop hits, the vocals and pads take over. Everything else in the track drops out. The vocals then take the track into the first verse. Additional synths come in, some of which have some automation on them. After another kick, another synth comes in as others drop out to build the track up. Filtering is gradually taken off.
The vocals then initiate the main chorus. There’s a brief instrumental section before the vocals continue onto the main chorus. This is capped off with another, much longer instrumental section. Vocals gradually come back into the track to finish off the main chorus. This is capped off with an additional instrumental section.
Some rim shots come in before the synths gradually build the track up again. The vocals then play through a verse. There’s some delay effects added to them. A synth effect hits before some non-lyrical vocals take over again. The synths have gradually less filtering to build the track up more.
The vocals then take the track back into the main chorus. An instrumental section takes over part way in. The vocals then gradually build back up to continue the main chorus. This section is capped off with some of the pads dropping out, but with other synths continuing on.
After that, the track gradually breaks down with various synths pulling back, leaving a melodic synth in place as well as the bassline. The drum kit then drops out along with what remains, leaving only a reverberation effect at the end before the track finishes.
One thing I find is that the vocals is very enjoyable in this track. Both the lyrical and non-lyrical elements work incredibly well. At some points, the vocals really punctuates the overall uplifting emotions.
The synths work quite well in that the filtering is automated. This helps them build the track up and pull it back to give it a rather smooth flow throughout.
Overall, this is a very solid track. It has nice vocals and well done synths. There’s really not a whole lot to complain about here, really. Definitely a recommended track from me.
