This review covers the alternative rock track The Cranberries – Animal Instinct.
This track was released in 1999 on the album Bury the Hatchet.
The track starts off with some guitar strumming. The bass guitar and drumkit joins the track. After that, the vocals join the track. Backup vocals make a brief appearance.
A lead guitar then joins the track as the backup vocals join the track. The vocals also take the track into the main chorus. After that, the vocals hit a non-lyrical section. This is followed up by a brief instrumental section.
From there, the vocals take the track into the next verse. Shortly after, the vocals take the track into the main chorus again. Part way through, some of the guitars take more of a presence. A synth joins the track. The main chorus is capped off with another instrumental section which is a bit longer.
After that, the track hits a few long notes and drops out.
A positive in this track is that the vocals work nicely in this track. They handle the lyrics well and they sound quit pleasant.
Additionally, the guitars work nicely as well. They give the track a nice pleasant sound overall. They even give the track a nice flow with small changes made throughout. That added synth towards the end is a nice touch as well.
Overall, this is a nice and pleasant rock track. It has good vocals and nice progression. The guitars work well too. So, a positive listening experience if you ask me.
