Review: Futura Legend Featuring Christine – Restless Nature (Signum Remix) (Trance)

This review covers the trance track Futura Legend Featuring Christine – Restless Nature (Signum Remix).

This track was released in 2002 along with the Tim J. Remix.

The track starts with a cymbal crash, kick, and a couple of synths. After an effect, another high hat joins the track. A few effects and a snare roll later, another synth joins the track. After a bit, an additional synth joins the track.

Another synth effect makes an appearance and the vocals join the track for a verse. The vocals then drop out, leaving one of the synths, effects, and drum kit. Those synth pads return for a bit. After a synth effect, the vocals then return to continue on the verse. A snare roll makes an appearance and the track largely drops out.

What follows is just the bare vocals with a reverberation effect. A synth effect makes an appearance. The vocals drop out and the synth pads return. The vocals then continue on with the main chorus for a moment. Another synth pad joins the track and parts of the main chorus continue to make occasional appearances. Other synth effects joins the track. A snare roll makes an appearance, parts of the track drop out, and then the track returns at the end of it.

From there, the instrumental side of the track continues on. A couple of synths drop out and the vocals make the occasional brief appearances. A snare roll makes an appearance and a few more subtle parts drop out. Some of the synths gradually fade out. A snare roll makes an appearance. Another snare roll makes an appearance and parts of the drum kit drop out. Another snare roll makes an appearance and the track is lead out by a synth and a cymbal crash.

This track does have some good things going for it. The synth melodies do work in this tracks favour. There were at least three different variations of it. So, you get a sense of variety throughout the track.

The vocals are OK. They do seem to hit octaves that are a bit too high for their capabilities. As a result, they wind up going quiet and become hard to hear. Additionally, the structure does leave a bit to be desired. It just goes verse, then chorus. It could have been more varied in my view.

Overall, this is a decent all around track. It has good synths, and good melodies. The vocals were OK, though they get quiet when hitting the higher notes. The lyrical structure is also a bit simple for my taste. So, overall, this is a decent track that has both positives and negatives.

Score
7/10
