Review: Breaking Benjamin – Polyamorous (Rock)

This review covers the alternative metal track Breaking Benjamin – Polyamorous.

This track was released in 2002 o the album Saturate.

The track starts off with a guitar with a gate effect. Shortly after, the lead guitars come in. From there, the lead vocals enter the track. Shortly after, the vocals take the track into the main chorus. This is capped off with a short instrumental.

After that, the lead guitars drop back and the vocals take the track into the next verse. The lead guitars return as the vocals take the track into the main chorus again. Backup vocals also makes an appearance here as well. This is capped off with a mix of instrumental and additional vocals. This continues on for a bit.

At that point, the track then drops out for a moment and the track heads into the main chorus again. This is capped off with a short instrumental section. The vocals come back for a moment that sounds heavier in overall tone. The lead guitars then lead the track out.

For me, this is a pretty decent all around track. The vocals have an interesting tonal element to them that gives it an edge of something different. They carry the lyrics pretty well as well.

The guitars are pretty solid all around. I think the gate effect at the beginning adds to the overall sound because it helps give the track a hint of industrial rock.

I think the drop in this track part way through worked quite well. It actually helped add to the overall flow of the track.

So, all in all, a solid track all around. It has good vocals and guitars. The elements of industrial rock and heavy metal added to it gives the track a nice bit of variety. So, a track that gets a thumbs up from me.
