This review covers the pop track Crush – Jellyhead.
This particular track was released in 1996 on the album Teenage Kicks.
It seems like every time I find a pop track to review, it ends up being a horrible track. A rare exception was ATC – Around The World (La La La). A perfectly reasonable question is if I could find a pop track that is actually enjoyable after finding that. Well, it turns out that this is actually possible. This track is one of those rare good pop music tracks.
This track features lyrics that covers breakup from the woman’s perspective. On the surface, that doesn’t sound all that appealing, but I found that the lyrics themselves were creatively written. Of course, a very strong element in this track is the electronica aspect. There’s a sort of galloping bassline that makes this track stand out quite well. The other synth was well put together and the overall evolution in this track makes this track enjoyable on repeat.
Overall, I thought this was a great track. There’s creative lyrics and addictive synth throughout. certainly worth the listen.
