Your Era Gamer Tops 150 Subscribers on YouTube (16,000+ Views)

Freezenet’s own Youtube channel, Your Era Gamer, has reached the milestone of 150 subscribers.

Back in July, I wrote about how the channel, Your Era Gamer, has reached its 5 year anniversary. I walked through how far the channel has come along and offered hints as to where I plan on taking the channel further.

Well, recently, it passed another milestone. The channel has accumulated over 150 subscribers, totalling 151 as of this writing. While a smaller milestone, it is a milestone nevertheless. As of this writing, the channel has also accumulated 16,250 views a well (according to the back end analytics as of this writing).

Getting to this point has been quite the grind. The channel has a whopping 199 video’s showcasing games and reviews spanning from the early days of Steam and extending all the way to at least 2021. So, getting to this point was by no means easy. Moving forward, it probably won’t get that much easier, either.

Still, there is reason for optimism. The plan moving forward is to delve further into the modern era and even getting into games that were released this year. One thing I keep being told is that the games I’m featuring aren’t new enough (2021 isn’t new enough???). So, in the interesting of experimenting around and testing new things, that is the plan starting next year. There is one data point that seems to support this theory. That is the Forza horizon 5 video which amassed over 1,100 views.

On the other hand, I know from first hand experience that just because something sounds likely to succeed doesn’t mean that it will. I’ve seen this with several metrics. Games like Halo, Assassin’s Creed, and Call of Duty, which have huge followings respectively, have repeatedly underperformed on the channel. Even the massively viral game of Subnautica, which has a reputation for giving video’s hundreds of thousands, if not, millions of views, couldn’t even crack 10 views on the channel.

Obviously, I’m going in with the attitude of “you don’t know if you don’t try”, but I’m honestly unsure how well newer games will really be in the first place. We’ll see, of course.

Still, I’m quite happy that the channel has reached this milestone. Here’s hoping more milestones will be waiting for me in the future!
