Review: Tritonal – Utopia (Take Me Away) (Arty Remix) (Trance)

This review covers the progressive trance track Tritonal – Utopia (Take Me Away) (Arty Remix).

This track was released in 2010 along with two other versions.

A distinctive feature of this track is the side-chained elements. This can be heard towards the beginning with some of the stringed elements. There is some notes that cover up the effect, but it helped give this track a good rhythm.

The chords were OK, but have been used in many tracks before it. It’s not too dissimilar to Deadmau5 – Faxing Berlin, really. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it cliche, but it is definitely a well worn element in music with a four to the floor beat.

Still, the synth strings worked quite effectively in giving this track a rather dreamy sound. It helps make this track more relaxing.

The brief flashes of vocal samples were quite interesting. They don’t ultimately say much. In fact, they are barely audible. Still, they served more to give the overall track a more textured sound. The effects that were thrown in with those elements balanced them out nicely. So, a surprisingly good element overall.

Overall, this track has a real “feel good” vibe throughout. While the chords might not be the most original, the rest of the track had some quality going for it. The side-chained elements really gave this track rhythm. The synth string gave this track a nice relaxing sound to it. A pretty good track to kick back and relax to.
