Welcome to the 147th instalment of our first impression video series. Today, we are playing the XBox One game, Halo 5: Guardians for the first time. You can check out the video directly on YouTube or in the embed below:
It’s been a while since I played a Halo game, so I was kind of struggling to remember some of the specifics of my playthroughs of other instalments. Still, I was able to remember some things at least.
One thing I really noticed while playing was the overall polished look of the graphics. It may be because I have been spending so much time playing slightly older titles and I’m still getting used to the graphical difference between XBox 360 titles and XBox One titles. Yet, at the same time, it really did feel like this game had the general feel of a Halo game at the same time.
Now, with that said, I’m playing this from the perspective of someone who has been kind of indifferent to the whole franchise. I never really found the franchise to be particularly mind blowing. Still, I’m also keeping an open mind while playing this anyway despite the past. I’m always on the lookout for pleasant surprises in a game series. After all, I’ve seen surprises in the past, so why would I treat any other franchise any differently?
In addition to that, it seems like something I should do. If I’m going to be playing with an XBox console, I should be playing a Halo game, right?
So, what did you think? Did you like this particular game or did you have preferences for different games by this point in time?
For those who haven’t played this particular game, but others in the franchise, is this something you would consider playing if given the opportunity or would you be more inclined to stick with other titles?
Also, for those who have never played a Halo game before (hey, I was one of those players too, once), what did you think of what you saw? Would this be something you would consider playing or is this space marine style FPS game not really something you would be in to? Let us know in the comments below!
