Welcome to the 153rd instalment of our first impression video series. Today, we are playing the Playstation 3 game, Katamari Forever for the first time. You can check out the video directly on YouTube or in the embed below:

This is a game I was excited to play for a while now. Not only is this the first time I was able to showcase a Katamari game on this channel, but it was a franchise I have already had a lot of fun playing back when I was playing through the PS2 collection. So, I had already knew that this game had a lot of potential to being a great game.

Indeed, while playing through this initial part, this game had a lot of the look and feel of the Katamari games I had remembered playing. I was, admittedly, a little rusty with the tank style control scheme as the video definitely showed, but that is something you can get used to after a while. Still not sure why the gyro didn’t work, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out on that one.

So far, this definitely plays a lot like the previous titles I’ve played. In fact, shortly after the video, I played one of the “memory” levels which is a throwback to the PS2 era levels. So, that was definitely a nice surprise to add there.

Still, what did you think of this game? Was this a game that was a lot of fun or was the game a bit on the strange side for your taste?

For those who’ve played other titles in the franchise, but not this one, what did you think of what you saw? Does this look like a game you would enjoy playing or have you had your fill of Katamari games already?

Also, for those who have never played any Katamari games, what did you think of when you saw this footage? Does this look like a game you might find to be a lot of fun or are you looking at this footage not understanding the appeal to it? Let us know in the comments below!

This video is part of our first impression video series. Below is a list of 50 of the previously made first impression video’s we’ve made in the past:
