Welcome to the 167th instalment of our first impression video series. Today, we are playing the Playstation 4 game, Mark McMorris Infinite Air for the first time. You can check out the video directly on YouTube or in the embed below:
This is one of those games that I knew absolutely nothing about. I’ve played my share of snowboarding style games, but this was totally new to me. I didn’t really know what to expect. When I got past the intro screen, this massive tutorial was what I was greeted with.
After the video was over, I probably spent another half an hour still going through the tutorial. The tricks ended up being much more complex, the controls ended up being much worse, the explanations were increasingly cryptic where even the pictures don’t really tell the whole story, and, honestly, it’s one of the rare times I’ve ever bailed on a tutorial for a game because it was, well, just so bad. I haven’t progressed much further into the game beyond just snowboarding to the bottom of the hill after the tutorial, but I will be going into this game again at some point in the future to see if this game goes anywhere beyond the tutorial.
So, for you, what did you think of this game? Was this one of those games that has the potential to revive the snowboarding video game genre or was this a massive dud to you?
For those who haven’t played this game, what did you think of what you saw? Does this look like a game you’d be willing to try or did you find this game to be just as confusing and cryptic as I did? Let us know in the comments below!
