Welcome to the 120th instalment of our first impression video series. Today, we are playing the Playstation 4 game, The Last of Us Part II for the first time. You can check out the video directly on YouTube or in the embed below:
Our journey through the release years of the Playstation 4 has finally reached a conclusion of sorts. By the time this game was released, we were in an era where gamers began talking about and speculating what the Playstation 5 will be like. Though games were simultaneously released for both the Playstation 4 and 5 afterwards, this is where the life span of the Playstation 4 began to start to fade – bolstered only by a massive chip shortage that caused supply shortages for the console in question.
As for the game itself, my understanding was that this game was a bit more controversial, at minimum, the plot. That was about all I knew about this game going into it.
This video is actually the second take. The first video was almost entirely the long cut scene towards the beginning of the game. When I looked back at it, although I did a great job talking about different aspects about gaming, it didn’t feel right treating you with one really long cut scene and calling it a representation of what the game was like. So, I shot this second video starting at a snowball fight scene thinking that this would be a good place to start the video, showing you some of the gameplay. It still was far from perfect because despite skipping a whole cut scene, I got… a cut scene for the most part anyway. Ah well. It wasn’t from a lack of trying anyway.
For those who have played this game, did you think the criticisms towards the game were warranted or was this still an enjoyable game to you?
For those who haven’t played this game, but other games in the series, what did you think of this game? Does this look like an interesting game to play or does this look like a game that’s a bit slow for your taste?
Also, for those who never played this series at all, does this look like an interesting game or does this game look a little too cut scene heavy for you? Let us know in the comments below!
