Review: Byron Stingily – Get Up (Everybody) (Parade Mix) (House)

This review covers the house track Byron Stingily – Get Up (Everybody) (Parade Mix).

This track was released in 1997 as a single.

The track starts off with a drum kit. The snare has a bit of a chop at the end. The drum kit drops out and a bassline takes over. Vocals then come in. Backup vocals make an appearance.

From there, the vocals take the track into a verse. Backup vocals take the track into the main chorus. This is backed by the drum kit and piano.

The main vocals take the track into the next verse. Backup vocals join the track and add to the verse. They then take the track into the main chorus. Synths briefly take over at the end.

After that, the vocals take the track into another round in the main chorus. The main vocals also make an appearance here. Both then take the track into the main chorus again. The piano element livens up a fair bit with short fast notes. From there, the vocals briefly drop out.

The main vocals then return in non-lyrical fashion. After a while, the vocals take the track into another verse. After a while, the backup vocals take the track into another round in the main chorus. After that, the vocals drop out and the track gradually fades out.

For me, the backup vocals work quite well. They do make the track quite enjoyable. Another positive is the piano elements. They really give this track some variety.

The big unfortunate thing is that the main vocals really don’t do anything for this track. I personally just can’t stand that type of vocal. This would be a very solid track had this vocal been excluded completely.

Overall, this is one of those tracks that have a fair number of decent things going for it. The backup vocals work well and the piano gives this track a nice sound. The main vocals, unfortunately, drag this track down and make this a much more painful thing to listen to. While passable, you can do a whole lot better in my view.
