This review covers the gabber hardcore track G-Town Madness & The Viper – Live A Lie.
This track was released in 2009 along with two other tracks.
This track starts off with a expletive laced intro. The voice samples not only provide energy for the track, but also a certain rhythm as well. The voice samples are not only left whole, but also chopped as well. Both give the track a nice rhythm overall in the beginning and end.
A melody is also introduced in the beginning portions. This also does double duty in providing some rhythm as well. It counterbalances the voice samples nicely, giving this intro some great quality.
After the breakdown, the main chorus starts with a hip-hop like rap segment. This was backed by subtle stringed synth which manages to give this section power. The added clap part way through worked quite well in giving this track energy.
The track gradually breaks down with more of the main melody. This both extended the length of the track and gave some dimension to the overall sound. It worked quite well.
The emotion throughout can be a little muddied, but it was quite energizing. The lyrics more or less projects the feeling of not caring what others think. It also pushes that feeling of setting forth on ones own while letting obstacles burn in the process.
Overall, this was quite the great track here. It has great rhythm and energy. The voice samples at the beginning and end worked nicely. The melody balanced things out well. It was very energizing. A recommended track if you are open to the hardcore genre.
