This review covers the euro house track Odina – Into the Night (Extended Mix).
This track was released in 1996 as a single.
The vocals start things off right into the main chorus with some reverberation. This is backed by some synth strings. A synth melody comes in. After a synth effect and short snare roll, the track drops.
The drum kit takes over with a brief vocal element. A synth melody then comes in. The pads also join the track. After a cymbal crash, the vocals come back, taking the track into the first verse. A snare roll makes an appearance before the vocals continue. A synth melody backs the vocals during the verse part way through. After that, the vocals take the track into the main chorus. This section is capped off with a snare roll and an instrumental section. The vocals make a brief appearance here.
After a snare roll, the vocals take the track into the next verse. After that, the vocals take the track into the next verse with a brief synth taking over for a second. The track then drops with some synth effects.
The vocals then return for another verse with some synth pads backing them. Some high hats also come in. After a cymbal crash, the drum kit and bassline returns. After a brief instrumental section, the vocals take the track into the next round of the main chorus. A synth effect allows the track drops.
The vocal then take the track into another verse as the track gradually builds up. From there, an instrumental section takes over with several synths including a melody and some pads. After that, the vocals take the track into another round of the main chorus. A synth effect and a cymbal crash comes in and the track ends
For me, the vocals sound quite good. They sound so clean and well produced, there is really nothing to complain about them.
The bassline serves two purposes. For one, they give the track some warmth. For another, they give the track a nice rhythm. While it more or less does double duty, they really give this track that likeable nature. It works quite well.
Also, the synths make the track sound great. The pads make the track sound nice while the melodies give this track a well rounded sound. All of which makes this track an enjoyable one.
Overall, this is a very solid track. It has nice vocals, well done synth, a great bassline, and even some pretty good lyrics. This track has such a likeable nature to it. So, a very nice track to listen to.
