This review covers the trance track Orinoko – Island (Thrillseekers Remix).
This track was released in 2001 as a single.
The track starts with a kick, a hat, and a few percussion elements. Shortly after, a synth joins the track. A sweep makes an appearance and the drum kit drops out early. A few synth effects make an appearance before the drum kit returns. An effect makes an appearance as well. A guitar element also makes a few brief appearances. The drum kit then drops out with a vocal making an appearance.
Several elements then drop out, leaving a synth, pad, and the vocal sample. A second voice sample makes an appearance that is non-lyrical. A few hats then rejoin the track as a few synths start fading in. This is joined by a guitar element that hits a number of additional notes. The drum kit then returns and the track fills out with a compliment of synths and the guitar. Both voice samples return one after another. A subtle sweep makes an appearance and large chunks of the track drop out.
After that, portions of the drum kit are left behind along with the bassline and one of the synths. A clap then re-joins the track. Some synth pads then fade in with the non-lyrical voice sample making an appearance again. The drum kit then drops out. After that, the guitar rejoins the track again. The second vocal sample then rejoins the track. A piano also backs this section. The rest of the drum kit then returns as most of the elements continue on. The guitar rejoins the track again towards the end of that section.
From there, several elements drop out. The pads fade out and some of the synths fade out as well. A synth sweep then enters the track and leads it out.
One thing that I really like about the track is the guitar. It adds such a nice calming element throughout the whole track. It even integrates well with all of the other elements as well.
The duel voice samples also work to add a nice human touch throughout. They don’t take up that much of a presence, but they are enough to add some dynamic sound throughout. So, in my view, they work quite well here.
Also, the piano is a nice touch in the track as it adds that nice finishing touch to the overall sound.
Overall, this is a very solid track. It has a nice guitar and good vocal samples in there. The piano adds a very nice finishing touch as well. So, a very solid track all around in my view.
