Review: Redemptive – Lucid Voyage (Drum N Bass)

This review covers the liquid funk drum n bass track Redemptive – Lucid Voyage.

This track was released in 2017 along with 4 other tracks.

The track starts off filtered with the higher frequencies being more present. After this, a kick takes the track into some general synth effects and voice samples. A synth melody comes in along with a bassline. After that, the drum kit comes in.

Some voice samples come in and there is a brief stop. Additional effects come into the track before the track breaks down somewhat with some of the effects going away. The track then builds back up with some of the synth effects making a return. A synth effect caps off this section.

Heavily filtered sounds come in before a voice sample comes in. This initiates the next section with the drum kit coming back filtered. The filters gradually pull away and the track comes back with the full drum kit and synths with effects. An additional synth effect breaks things up before the track comes back again.

After this, some of the effects fall away. The track then begins to break down again with some effects taking over and the drum kit disappearing. The track ends with a voice sample and a kick.

One thing I really do like about the track is the drum kit. It adds a lot of energy to the track. The fact that it is filtered at times also gives this track a nice variety on top of it all.

The bassline also gives this track a nice rhythm. Combined with the drum kit, this track contains a very nice groove.

What really makes this track pop is some of the effects and voice sample cuts. They give this track a very nice uplifting sound. The sprinkling of melody throughout certainly doesn’t hurt anything either.

Overall, this is a great track. It has some nice refreshing vibes with the effects and sprinkling of melody. The drum kit gives this track some great energy and the bassline gives this track a nice rhythm. An overall recommended track as far as I’m concerned.
