This review covers the progressive trance track The Thrillseekers - Savanna (Original Mix).
This track was released in 2010 along with two remixes.
Towards the beginning of the track, there is a sort of sub-melody. This is followed up by a synth that has a sort of fast distance effect thrown on. It isn’t bad and gives the track a decent sound.
From there, the track incorporates a guitar sound. The sound is brought into the track as a sort of solo sound backed with some nice pads right as the breakdown hits. The solo sound is quite emotional. It’s both relaxing and, wit a lack of a better description, remote.
When the beat is brought back, there is certainly more energy, but the guitar really shines through still. The synth added gives the track a nice rhythm.
From there, the track sort of ends with some crunchy synths. This, of course, is a sort of false ending because the fast distant synth returns. After that, there is a second breakdown and the guitar elements return. It is certainly nice to hear the guitar be brought back a second time, though the false ending does awkwardly break up the track a little.
After this, there is a true ending. This contains some general synth as the track gradually beaks down.
Generally speaking, this is a very good track. It contains some great guitar solo’s that give this track such an emotional sound. You can get that remote, yet relaxing emotion from these portions. The fast distance synth is also pretty good as it gives the track something to balance the overall sound out. Probably the only thing I wasn’t a huge fan was the more or less false ending in the middle. This breaks up the track a little in a rather awkward manner. Still, this track is totally worth listening to. It gets a thumbs up from me.
